Toivanen Juhana

Docteur en philosophie de l’Université de Jyväskylä, il a soutenu à l’automne 2009 une thèse de doctorat qui porte sur la psychologie philosophique médiévale, particulièrement sur la théorie de Pierre de Jean Olivi de la perception et des fonctions cognitives supérieures de l’âme animale, les sens internes. Il s’intéresse également à la philosophie politique de moyen âge.

Ses recherches portent sur l’histoire de philosophie médiévale, et plus particulièrement, les conceptions de la sociabilité humaine dans les commentaires sur la Politique d’Aristote et dans les autres œuvres de la philosophie politique. Il travaille aussi sur des théories médiévales concernant l’unité des sens internes et la représentation perceptuelle dans les commentaires sur De anima et Parva naturalia, entre ca. 1250-1350.
